The author is a retired woman residing in North Carolina. She received a General Education Diploma (GED) and went on to a great career working in Criminal Justice, a Governor’s Office, Forensic Science, and Nuclear Non-Proliferation. She is a shining example that lacking a college degree does not prevent anyone from acquiring general knowledge, organizational skills, and strong work ethic from working hand-in-hand with the brightest and most accomplished professionals. As a single parent, she guided her children to become ethical, caring, hardworking members of society.
